Phase 4 of Lockdown delayed – How does this affect your wedding or event planning?

The Covid-19 Pandemic has affected every element of Irish life over the past 5 months and the events and wedding industry has certainly been deeply affected.

The country was due to move to the fourth and final phase of the roadmap to lift coronavirus lockdown restrictions on August 10th but although many businesses have opened up successfully, in a bid to stop the spread of the virus, the Government decided to delay moving to phase four – and this means that the numbers for weddings and events remains the same for now – 50 indoors and 200 outdoors.

This is obviously a problem for many event planners and couples’ planning their wedding and has left them with a rather large headache in trying to decide how many to invite, never mind, who to invite!

If you are going ahead with your wedding and are considering your guest list numbers, those who live abroad and friends and family who may be medically vulnerable will more than likely not be able to attend. Also, in these times, people are more than understanding about small numbers at events so won’t be offended if they don’t make the A-List!

Here at the Castle we continue to manage people flow and understand that outdoor events are preferable to indoor, even if your numbers are small – if only we had bright sunshine all the time! Social distancing guidelines and health protection protocols are in place but our team will make sure that these don’t affect how you enjoy your day.

These are unpredictable times but our team will continue to be health and hygiene focused to make sure you have complete confidence during your stay with us and no matter the size of your wedding, at the end of the day, it’s about you as a couple celebrating your love for each other and it will be a day you will always cherish.
