We hosted our very first International Women’s Day Breakfast Seminar to celebrate #iwd2020
The theme for this year is #eachforequal and we were delighted to welcome Julie Galbraith as our key-note speaker. Julie is an expert in Employment Law and Corporate & Commercial at Eversheds Sutherland.
After registration, our 60 excited guests enjoyed a delightful continental breakfast in our Van Stry Ballroom, chatted to like minded women and enjoyed Julie’s excellent presentation.
Julie spoke about just how much things have changed for Irish women over the last 100 years including the ability to take out a loan in our own name, serve on a jury, inherit property and work in a law firm and the civil service – even as a married woman! But even in 2020, there are still many challenges facing women including the gender pay gap, lack of women in politics and senior business roles and the high cost of childcare. A lot done, more to do as the saying goes!
We can all help create a gender equal world – challenge stereotypes, broaden perceptions and celebrate women’s achievements.
Let's all be #EachforEqual
