Valentines Wishes From Luttrellstown

Many years ago in 1912, Arthur Guinness took his daughter Aileen and her friend to visit Major Hamilton who lived at Luttrellstown Castle.

While riding through the glen on their horse and cart, Aileen and her friend stopped at the wishing chair. Mr Guinness over heard his daughter Aileen wish that she owned Luttrellstown Castle one day. Below is our Wedding Executive Alanna sitting on the Wishing Chair that is still standing today.

Fifteen years later in 1927, Aileen Plunket married Brinsley Plunket. Her father presented her with the keys of Luttrellstown Castle – dreams can come true.
