Do you have more than one wedding a day?
Luttrellstown Castle Resort is an exclusive venue for hire, meaning that you will be the only event taking place on your wedding day.

 

What is your maximum capacity?
The maximum capacity we can cater for in the Castle is 180 persons.

The Van Stry Room can accommodate up to 120 persons with 10 tables of 12 guests.

The Kentian Room can accommodate an additional 60 guests with 5 round tables of 12 guests.

 

Can you cater for smaller weddings?
Yes. Luttrellstown Castle Resort is a perfect setting for smaller, more intimate weddings.

 

Can I have a small wedding on a Friday or Saturday?
Yes, however Luttrellstown Castle has a minimum requirement of 100 adults for Friday and Saturday weddings in the months May-September and December inclusive. Outside of theses months smaller weddings can be accommodated in the Castle.

 

What room would the pre-dinner drinks take place?
Your drinks reception can take place in the Kentian room,  Gothic Hall or outside, weather permitting.

 

What room does the dinner place in?
The Van Stry Ballroom is where your dinner will be held.

 

Can the fires be lit in the castle?
Yes. The fire in the Kentian room and in the Van Stry can be lit. However, no fires are allowed to be lit in the bedrooms for health and safety reasons.

 

When are final numbers required?
Final numbers are required 72 hours in advance of the event date.

 

What time can I arrive to the castle?
Access to the castle is from 3pm on the day of your event.

 

What time do I have to leave the castle?
Check out is 12 noon on the day of departure.

 

Can I get ready in the castle on the morning of my wedding?
In order to be able to get ready in the castle on the morning of your wedding you would need to book the castle from the night before.

 

How many guests can sleep in the castle?
There are twenty (20) bedrooms in the castle, each sleeping two guests. Some bedrooms have sofa beds that can be adjusted to accommodate additional guests, for which a supplement of twenty euro (€20) per adult and twelve-fifty (€12.50) per child applies on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

The castle can sleep a maximum of fifty-two (52) guests.

 

How many guests can the castle seat for a ceremony?
The castle has a host of beautiful locations to host your wedding ceremony. Our Gothic Hall, with its enchanting vaulted ceilings and Italian Crystal chandelier, can accommodate up to 130 people for a ceremony. Our stunning Kentian Suite, with its beautiful tapestries and welcoming open fire, can accommodate up to 60 people. Weather permitting, there are also stunning outdoor ceremony spaces that offer breathtaking views over the castle and the estate.

 

Can a priest marry us in the castle?
Yes. A priest may marry you in the castle.

 

Is it possible to have some guests standing for a ceremony in the castle?
This very much depends on who is performing your ceremony. The HSE require all guests to be seated for the entire ceremony. Other celebrants such as Humanist, inter faith and spiritual do not have any such stipulations.

 

Can I have my ceremony outdoors?
Yes but it is very much weather dependent.

 

Can I take my photographs on the grounds of the castle?
Yes and Luttrellstown Castle Resort makes for a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos.

 

Is there a minimum requirement for the packages on your website?
During the months of May to September and December, the packages are based on a minimum number of 100 guests.

 

My guests list is under 100 – what are my options?
We will tailor a package that best suits your requirements.

Yes. We have an exclusive list of wedding professionals who frequently work with Luttrellstown Castle Resort.

 

Is there a menu tasting included?
Yes. a menu tasting is included in the Wedding Package and allows for a table of 2 persons to taste the following:

• Two appetisers
• Two soups
• Three main courses
• One vegetarian main course
• Two desserts

 

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes. We cater for all dietary requirements.

 

Do you allow corkage?
Yes. Corkage is provided on request for consumption during dinner service on the following basis:

• Charge of €15 per 75cl bottle of wine
• Charge of €20 per 75cl bottle of Champagne/Prosecco
• Charge of €40 per magnum

Any items not listed above will be priced on request. We do not offer corkage on beers, spirits or liquors. The wedding package price will be reduced by €5 if the Luttrellstown Castle selected wines are not consumed. No reduction will be provided if the prosecco on arrival is not consumed.

 

What time does the music and bar finish at?
The music and bar must finish no later than 2:30am.

 

Is there a resident’s bar and what time does this close?
The resident’s bar is held in the Library and is open until 4:00am.  

 

What is the deposit schedule?

Deposit/ First Payment: 50% of the venue hire is payable to confirm your booking and to reserve the date

Second Payment: The balance of the venue hire is payable 8 weeks before the event date plus 60% of the food, beverage and miscellaneous bill.

Third Payment: The final payment is due 2 weeks before the event date i.e. the balance of 40% of your food and beverage and miscellaneous items based on your estimated final numbers.

 

Is there a service fee included in the rates quoted?
All Food & Beverage items are subject to 10% + VAT service charge.

 

Is VAT included?
Yes. The exclusive venue hire fee is quoted plus VAT. All food and beverage prices include VAT. The current VAT rates are as follows:

• Venue Hire: 13.5% VAT
• Food: 13.5%
• Beverage: 23%  

 

Is there somewhere secure to store wedding cards and gifts?
Yes. There is safe room in the castle where cards and gifts can be stored.

 

Are fireworks allowed?
Low noise Fireworks are allowed once Luttrellstown Castle Resort is notified two weeks in advance. Fireworks must take place before 11pm.

 

Can we book activities on the day?
In order to guarantee the activities will be available they must be booked two weeks in advance.
