Why Our State Of The Art Driving Range Is The Perfect Place to Perfect Your Swing

A round of golf outdoors is the perfect opportunity to catch up with old buddies, cinch that crucial business deal or just take some time out to relax and unwind.

But what if your game is currently more ‘triple-bogey’ than ‘birdie’? It can definitely make the experience that little bit less enjoyable if your swing isn’t up to scratch – so if 2018 is the year you’re planning on giving Rory McIlroy a run for his money, then it’s time to get yourself down to Luttrellstown Golf Academy.

You might already be familiar with the resort’s spectacular 18-hole championship course, with stunning views of Luttrellstown Castle and across the Liffey Valley towards the Dublin Mountains. Not to mention lush parklands, unique water features and a beautiful clubhouse for a post-round lunch rendezvous.

Just 20 minutes from the city centre and with competitive green fees all year round, it’s definitely worth a visit whether you’re a serious golf addict or just getting into the game.

But what you might not know is that Luttrellstown Estate has an equally impressive and newly transformed driving range, where you can work on your game alone or with the help of a first-class PGA instructor.

With 50 outdoor grass bays and an additional five indoors, there’s no danger of having to queue up to tee off. Plus there are three training holes of varying distances to help you perfect your putt and get it ‘up to par’, so to speak.

You can even practice up to 8pm (7pm on weekends) thanks to the miracle of floodlighting, with 5,000 range balls and custom-made mats to improve feel and prevent injury. Better still, the latest ball flight and swing speed software is also coming soon to this top-notch, comprehensive facility.

Practise with pals, or – better yet – up your game in secret. When your golfing gang seem surprised at how fast you can suddenly get from tee to green, tell them you’ve always been this good; they just hadn’t noticed.

Luttrellstown Academy membership starts from €150 for six months with full access to the driving range and all practice facilities.
